Mr. Light is a lifelong Floridian having spent most of his formative years in Naples. He earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in political science from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, in 1995. He later earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida, in 2000, where among other things he was awarded the William Crews Pro Bono Service Award

In 2001, attorney Eric H. Light earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Estate Planning from the University of Miami School of Law in Coral Gables, Florida. Since earning this prestigious degree from Miami (the only law school in the country offering this type of LL.M. degree), he has limited his practice to the following areas of law: estate planning; probate and trust administration; taxation; corporate and business law; asset protection; guardianship law; and domicile planning. He is a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association; the Florida Bar; the U.S. Tax Court; and the Tax, Real Property, and Probate Sections of the Florida Bar.
